    The Liepshutz Family {Marathon Family Photographer}

    I had another opportunity to meet a fun new family.  This family came “all the way” from the Orlando area for a quick stay at Tranquility Bay.  The photos were a surprise to the dad and son and the weather didn’t completely cooperate, but we made the most of it and got some great shots.  You almost can’t tell it was blowing about 25 straight into the beach area of the hotel.  🙂

    So. Much.  Fun.  The B’s were a somewhat last minute session that just happened to work out perfectly.  We photographed Mom, Dad and daughters and add the in-laws in for some pictures as well.  It’s always nice to get grandparent and grandkid photos any opportunity you have.  After we did some posed family photos, we did have an opportunity to do a few candid shots of the girls too.  Dad has his hands full with these beauties for sure!

    As the kids get older and have families of their own, it becomes harder to grab them all in one place at one time.  This year, the annual Marathon Seafood Festival brought one of my favorite families together.  Capt. Art and his 3 kids were all in 1 place at one time (after taking a break from manning the beer booth) just long enough for some quick pictures.  These are black and white conversions of some of my favorites.  We didn’t have too much time (places to go, people to see) but I’m so glad they made the effort.

    There aren’t words in a blog post that can accurately describe how much this family means to me.  I’ve done 2 sets of senior pictures and a few sets of family pictures but these were definitely the most fun (as you can surely tell from a few pictures).

    The Johnson Family {Marathon Family Photographer}

    The Johnson family arrived from several different states for the holidays and were interested in a reunion family photo.  With 3 kids under the age of 4 (2 under 2 years), I brought in one of my assistants to help.  Originally, we were going to do the session at Sombrero Beach, but when we arrived there were so many people that we couldn’t find a spot.  In all the years I’ve been doing this, THAT was a first for me.  So, we opted to change venues and quickly adjusted locations.  After we got a few posed group photos and some photos of the individual families, we let the kids run around on the beach a bit while I captured some candid shots.

    The Perry Family {Marathon, FL Photographer}

    I first met the Perry family from South Dakota in 2014.  The family comes to Hawks Cay every 2 years and while they’re here, they get updated family photos.  5 different families from 4 different states make up this fun group of  14.  This year, rather than doing the shots at the resort, we moved over to the area by the villas so we could switch the scenery up a bit.  We did some posed large group family shots, then some shots of the individual smaller families before we did some candids of the grandkids.  It was great to be able to see how much the kids had grown.  They tell me they’ll be back in 2018.  I hope so!

    Holiday Sessions 2016 {Marathon Family Photographer}

    This year, at the beginning of October, I started offering shorter family sessions for a reduced price.  The sessions were about 20 minutes which proved very manageable for several of my younger friends (kids and husbands ;-)) with all of the other hustle and bustle around the holidays.  I’ve done this for the past several years as a way for families to update their holiday photos for cards or gifts.  We photographed more than 30 families in about 8 weeks this year.  It was certainly a busy time, but we enjoyed it alot.   Which is your favorite?

    Miller Family {Marathon Family Photographer}

    Just before Christmas, I had the opportunity to photograph the Miller family.  Mom, Dad, the two daughters and their husbands all in town for the holidays so what better time to update the family photos?  I’ve known this family for more than 30 years but hadn’t seen the girls in a long time.  It was so nice to see everyone and I love that the girls organized the shoot to make sure they keep updated family photos.

    Best of Marathon 2016 – Thank You! {Marathon, FL Photographer}

    I am honored to have been voted as Best Photographer for the 5th year in a row during this year’s Best of Marathon awards. During the past 11 years of photographing in Marathon, I have enjoyed capturing the very special moments of some very special families. From behind the camera I’ve witnessed the nerves of engagements, the exchange of vows, met and photographed squishy newborns, and enjoyed growing families. I appreciate all of you who took the time to vote for me. Thank you also to my amazing assistant (Shuga) who, in addition to being the best dog whisperer, tambourine player and sunglass holder, makes sure all the wheels of the business keep turning. Thank you to the Marathon Rotary Club and The Weekly Newspapers for hosting the event. Now, who’s ready for some Fall Photos at the Fall Harvest on October 9th?

    Holiday Session 2015 {Florida Keys Family Photographer}

    Each year around the end of October, I start offering shorter family sessions for a reduced price.  The sessions are about 20 minutes which is a little more manageable for everyone around the holidays.  I do this to allow families to update their holiday photos for cards or gifts.  This year, I started these mini sessions at the beginning of October in hopes of avoiding some of the November wind (and sometimes rain) that we get down here.  I photographed more than 30 families in about 6 weeks.  It was certainly a busy time, but I enjoyed it alot.   I tried to get a picture from each session for the slideshow below.  Which is your favorite?
