Relax – {Florida Keys Wedding Photographer}
Last weekend I had the opportunity to photograph the beautiful home wedding of Candice and Casey. Candice and Casey are from the middle of the state and decided on a wedding/honeymoon combo in the Florida Keys with family and close friends. Though there was more than a 50% chance of rain in the forecast for most of the day, the weather cleared and held off for for a gorgeous ceremony between these two ladies. The ceremony took place at a private, rented residence right on the Atlantic Ocean and included a brief sand ceremony. Immediately following the ceremony, we took some quick family pictures utilizing the beautiful floral arrangement provided by Flowers by J&J along with the arbor provided by Mile Marker Party Rentals. On our way to the reception dinner at Cabana Breezes, we took some pictures at Sunset Park on Key Colony Beach. Here are a few of my favorites from the evening. Congratulations Candice and Casey!

The “F” Family {Florida Keys Family Photographer}
Periodically I’m contacted by families that have come in from out of town for a reunion of sorts and would like to get some updated family photos. I’m a sucker for these sessions because as the smaller families are created and grow, the opportunity for full family photos with gramma and grampas becomes more difficult. I encourage any family to get pictures as often as the whole family can be together, and sometimes this means getting them done while on vacation. The “F” family of 12 came from all over the country and was full of spunk (and Nick’s….I think there were 4 of them). Gramma and Grampa wanted some full family shots as well as some of just the grandkids and their families as well. Since they were staying at Hawks Cay, we used the resort for our landscape. What a beautiful facility for a wonderful family. If you’re coming to town and your whole family will be together, think about getting some updated family photos while you’re here.

Miss P {Florida Keys Newborn Photographer}
I’ve been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Miss. P because I haven’t had a little girl newborn in a while (lots of little boys). I’ve known P’s mom and dad for years so I knew they’d be up for anything I wanted to try. P’s daddy is a pilot so we were able to throw in some airplane themed shots with some props mommy brought. Isn’t she adorable in the shots below? Mommy also didn’t want too much pink so we stuck to the more gender neutral colors. I love the shots we got and can’t wait to watch Miss P grow up.

Holiday Sessions 2012 {Florida Keys Family Photographer}
As a way to help families update their family pictures for holiday cards or gifts, I offered a few days of holiday mini sessions. These were only offered on specific days and at specific locations but allowed for a quick session at a reduced rate. I photographed more than 20 families and all received their digital files in time for ordering. Here are a few from the various sessions.

Taylor – {FL Keys Senior Photographer}
This session was a bit sentimental for me since I babysat Taylor when she was a baby. She was super cooperative and up for anything when it came time to start shooting. We got a few of her in several different settings with different props including the one below with Taylor and soccer ball. Everyone is so proud of Taylor who will be attending Duke University next Fall.

Sutton is 1 {Florida Keys Children’s Photographer}
Yeah! Sutton is 1. For her birthday pictures, we put her in her birthday dress and got some shots then did a little cake smash. I love the cake smash sessions. It’s fun to see how differently the kids react to the mess or the sugar. Some of them are so excited by the taste that they really get into it. Others can’t get over the idea of being dirty. Sutton was ok with the mess and didn’t seem bothered or overly excited by the sugar . She loved the necklace though!

Ahh, vacation {Florida Keys Family Photographer}
Scheduling family pictures can be tough with the daily hustle and bustle that we all participate in. So, why not schedule your family portraits while you’re on a little vacation? That’s what the McMillan family decided to do during their recent June getaway. Even though the weather wasn’t super cooperative, the fact that it was so overcast made it easier to avoid the squinting eyes that we all have trouble with down here in paradise. Thanks Lori and family for the opportunity to get to know you and your kids.

Princess Ariella {Florida Keys Children’s Photographer}
When trying to schedule the “right” time to photograph a toddler, I always ask the parents what time their child is happiest. Ariella didn’t make a liar out of her mom who said that she’s always happy. She is such a cutie and didn’t disappoint. We started at their house where Ariella’s daddy has created an amazing backyard filled with all sorts of colors. After our outside pictures we made our way back to the studio for a cake smash to celebrate Ariella’s first birthday. Can’t wait to photographer her again.

Mia {Florida Keys Newborn Photographer}
I’ve been excited and anxious about Mia’s arrival for about a month now. I purchased a few new props just to try out on her. We weren’t really sure if she was going to make her grand entrance a little early or on time but it turned out she came a little early and the new family was home in time for a trip to the studio on Father’s Day. What a dream Mia was. She slept the entire time which really allowed me to snap away. Congrats to the new family, including big brother Elijah.

30 years and counting {Florida Keys Family Photographer}
30 years together? Now that’s something to be proud of. These two came down to Hawks Cay Resort to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary and wanted to try to get some couple and family pictures done while they were here. It’s always interesting to meet new people, but this family was really close knit and super funny (fun too!). Congratulations Mike and Beth! Hope there are many, many more to celebrate.
Here are a few favorites and a slide show of a few more.
