    Reunion of sorts {Marathon Family Photographer}

    One of my favorite sessions to photograph are those where family members meet from all over the country and want to capture the moment of togetherness.  We get photos of parents with kids, grandparents with grandkids, individual familes, cousins, sisters, brothers and anything else we can think of while we move along.  This was one of those sessions.  6 adults and 3 kids made for a fun group.  We captured everything they hoped and even ended the session with a few sunset colors.  Speaking of colors, I’m loving the coral in these!

    Upcycled {Florida Keys Children’s Photographer}

    Looking back over these from last week and I’m really loving the way they turned out. The vintage outfits belonged to baby’s momma so I wanted the session to feel aged or upcycled a bit.  Since Mom didn’t grow up down here, we didn’t want a beach or palm tree type setting.  We spent some time in a field and after getting pretty warm decided to head back to the house.  You can see that the baby really warmed up once she was in a familiar environment.

    Holiday Session 2014 {Florida Keys Family Photographer}

    Every year around the end of October, I start offering shorter family sessions for a reduced price.  I do this to allow families to update their holiday photos for cards or gifts.  This year, I started these mini sessions at the beginning of October in hopes of avoiding some of the November wind that we get down here sometimes.  I photographed more than 30 families in about 6 weeks.  It was certainly a busy time, but I enjoyed it alot.   I tried to get a picture from each session for the slideshow below.  Which is your favorite?

    Holiday Sessions 2013 {Florida Keys Family Photographer}

    Every year around the end of October, I start offering shorter sessions for a reduced price.  I do this to allow families to update their holiday photos for cards or gifts.  This year, I photographed almost 30 families in about 5 weeks.  It was busy, but I enjoyed it alot.  I got to see toddlers that I hadn’t seen since their newborn sessions and families I hadn’t seen since the year before.  I tried to get a picture from each session for the slideshow below.  Check them out below.

    The “F” Family {Florida Keys Family Photographer}

    Periodically I’m contacted by families that have come in from out of town for a reunion of sorts and would like to get some updated family photos.  I’m a sucker for these sessions because as the smaller families are created and grow, the opportunity for full family photos with gramma and grampas becomes more difficult.  I encourage any family to get pictures as often as the whole family can be together, and sometimes this means getting them done while on vacation.  The “F” family of 12 came from all over the country and was full of spunk (and Nick’s….I think there were 4 of them).  Gramma and Grampa wanted some full family shots as well as some of just the grandkids and their families as well.  Since they were staying at Hawks Cay, we used the resort for our landscape.  What a beautiful facility for a wonderful family.  If you’re coming to town and your whole family will be together, think about getting some updated family photos while you’re here.

    Holiday Sessions 2012 {Florida Keys Family Photographer}

    As a way to help families update their family pictures for holiday cards or gifts, I offered a few days of holiday mini sessions.  These were only offered on specific days and at specific locations but allowed for a quick session at a reduced rate.  I photographed more than 20 families and all received their digital files in time for ordering.  Here are a few from the various sessions.

    Ahh, vacation {Florida Keys Family Photographer}

    Scheduling family pictures can be tough with the daily hustle and bustle that we all participate in.  So, why not schedule your family portraits while you’re on a little vacation? That’s what the McMillan family decided to do during their recent June getaway.  Even though the weather wasn’t super cooperative, the fact that it was so overcast made it easier to avoid the squinting eyes that we all have trouble with down here in paradise.  Thanks Lori and family for the opportunity to get to know you and your kids.

    30 years and counting {Florida Keys Family Photographer}

    30 years together? Now that’s something to be proud of.  These two came down to Hawks Cay Resort to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary and wanted to try to get some couple and family pictures done while they were here.  It’s always interesting to meet new people, but this family was really close knit and super funny (fun too!).  Congratulations Mike and Beth!  Hope there are many, many more to celebrate.

    Here are a few favorites and a slide show of a few more.
